Beginner Diving in Alanya

This is the dive the rest of this site is built around. You are collected from your hotel in Alanya or one of the nearby resorts in the morning, driven to the harbour below the castle, and welcomed onto the dive boat by the crew and the instructors. Nobody assumes you know anything. Your wetsuit, mask, fins, BCD and regulator are sized and fitted on the boat, and the briefing walks you through the three things that matter on a first dive: how to breathe through a regulator, how to equalise your ears, and the hand signals you will use with your instructor.
The first dive is deliberately gentle: 5–8 m for 15–25 minutes, in open water, with the instructor holding your position and controlling your buoyancy while you simply breathe and look around. Most people describe the first two minutes as strange and everything after that as the best part of their holiday. After a rest on the boat — a swim, a snorkel, a coffee on deck — the second dive takes you to about 13 m, the beginner ceiling on our boats, along the rocky reef beneath the castle where the fish live and the cave mouths open in the pale rock.
Then lunch on board in a quiet bay, the cruise back past Cleopatra Beach, and the transfer to your hotel. The whole day is about 7–8 hours door to door. Everything you need is included and you pay on the day — reserving costs nothing, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.

We deliberately do not print a pickup time. Yours depends on where you are staying and the day's route; we confirm it with you the day before, and the return moves with the sea and the group.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
I have never dived. Is this safe for a complete beginner?
Diving is never risk-free and we will not tell you it is. What we can tell you is how the risk is managed: a briefing before each dive, equipment checked on the boat, an instructor beside you in the water for both dives, a first dive kept to 5–8 m and a second within 13 m in open water. You can end a dive at any time by signalling.
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
Not a strong one. You wear a BCD that floats you at the surface and the instructor controls your buoyancy underwater. You must be comfortable in the water — if you cannot swim at all, tell us before booking.
What is the minimum age?
14. If you are travelling with younger children, message us before booking; non-diving companions can sometimes join the boat, on request.
How deep will I go?
5–8 m on the first dive, about 13 m on the second. That is the ceiling for divers without a certification on our boats, and it is where the reef, the fish and the cave mouths are.
What is included in the 45 €?
Return hotel transfer from Alanya and the nearby resorts, the instructor and crew, all standard equipment, a hot lunch on board with drinking water, diving insurance for the day and the safety briefing. Drinks, an underwater photo service, gratuities and a thermal inner suit (diving undergarment) or extra neoprene layer are not included; the thermal inner suit is available as an optional extra on request.
When do I pay?
On the day, in euros, to the operator. The reservation itself is free, no card is asked for, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.
Can I fly the next day?
Not within 24 hours of your last dive. Book your dive at least a full day before your flight home.
