Diving in Alanya: your questions answered

No. The beginner dive is built for people who have never dived. You get a briefing, your equipment is fitted on the boat, and a professional instructor is beside you in the water for both dives, controlling your buoyancy and depth while you breathe and look around.

Not for the beginner dive. For the certified diver experience, yes: a certification card from a recognised diving agency and your logbook. The dive team assesses your level and how recently you last dived before planning your profile.

Yes. Most of our beginner guests are taking their first breath underwater. The first dive is a gentle 5–8 m for 15–25 minutes, the second goes to about 13 m, and you are never more than an arm's length from your instructor. You can end a dive at any time.

14 for both dives. If you are travelling with younger children, message us before booking and we will tell you honestly what is and is not possible.

Families with members aged 14 and over can dive on the same boat, and often in the same beginner group. Younger family members cannot join the dives; ask us about joining the boat as a non-diving companion.

You do not need to be a strong swimmer for a beginner dive — you wear a BCD and your instructor controls your buoyancy — but you must be comfortable in the water. If you cannot swim at all, tell us before booking so the instructor can plan for it.

The first dive is 5–8 m, the second to about 13 m. That is the beginner ceiling on our boats, always in open water and always beside an instructor.

Around 30 m on standard certified dives. The deep sites on this coast go down to 60 m, and they are dived only by suitably qualified divers when the dive team agrees. Your certification, logged experience, the weather and the sea decide the profile — not a brochure.

A beginner's first dive lasts 15–25 minutes; the second is similar, within the 13 m ceiling. Certified dives run to the plan the guide sets from depth, air and the group.

You can tell us what you would like — reef, overhangs, swim-throughs — and the team will try. But the final site, depth and profile are decided on the day by the dive team from certification, experience, weather and sea conditions. A site is never guaranteed.

Any recognised diving agency: PADI, CMAS, SSI, NAUI, BSAC and the others. Bring the card and your logbook. If it has been a long time since your last dive, say so — a refresher may be advised before the deeper profiles.

Yes, all of it: mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, air cylinder and weights, fitted to you on the boat. You are welcome to bring your own mask or dive computer if you prefer them. A thermal inner suit (diving undergarment) or any extra neoprene layer is not included in the price and is available as an optional extra on request.

Yes — a return transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle from hotels in Alanya and the nearby resorts. The pickup time depends on your hotel and the day's route and is confirmed with you the day before.

Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes. Certified divers also bring their certification card and logbook. Everything else is on the boat. A thermal inner suit (diving undergarment) or any extra neoprene layer is not included in the price and is available as an optional extra on request.

The dive team reads the sea each morning. If the conditions do not allow safe diving, we move your reservation to another day or cancel it free of charge — you never pay for a day that did not happen.

Yes, a small action camera is welcome on both dives. On a beginner dive we ask you to keep your hands free for the first few minutes; your instructor will tell you when it is fine to film. A photo and video service is not included.

Diving insurance for the day is included in the price. You pay on the dive day, in euros, to the operator — nothing is charged online and no card details are asked for.

Diving is not suitable during pregnancy or with heart conditions or serious respiratory conditions, including severe asthma. If you have a recent ear, sinus or chest illness, take regular medication, have had recent surgery, or are unsure about any condition, ask a doctor and tell us before booking. We do not diagnose — we plan around what you tell us.

Not within 24 hours after your last dive. Book your dive at least a full day before your flight home.

Every dive starts with a briefing that covers the emergency procedures for that dive: signals, what to do if you lose your buddy or your instructor, controlled ascents and the surface routine. The instructor stays with the group and the boat crew stays with the divers throughout. Diving insurance for the day is included.

You signal your instructor and the dive ends calmly — that is what the signals are for and it happens more often than people think. There is no pressure to continue, and many guests who surface early go down again after a rest on the boat.

Hotel pickup, a short drive to the harbour, equipment fitting on the boat, a full briefing, then the first shallow dive beside your instructor. A rest, a snorkel if you like, the second dive to about 13 m, lunch on board and the cruise back. About 7–8 hours door to door.

Beginners dive in small groups of 3–4 divers per instructor. The boat takes up to 30 guests a day, with the dives run in groups.
